Bazel Studio Desk began with my dad—an audio enthusiast and experienced woodworker. He spent decades building high end furniture for world renowned designers, always with an eye for clean design and solid construction. In 1984 he fulfilled one of his longtime dreams: to have his own recording studio.
In 2007, he turned his craftsmanship toward his love for music. He started handcrafting custom desks when nothing on the market met his needs, or the needs of musicians and producers like him. The result was sturdy, minimal, and purpose-driven—quickly catching the attention of friends, clients, and fellow creatives.
What began in a small LA workshop turned into a quiet favorite among creators who wanted gear that worked as hard as they did. In recent years, my dad passed the torch to me—his daughter—and I now build every Bazel desk by hand.
I’ve taken what he built and made it my own: honoring his attention to detail, while refining the designs to support modern workflow, comfort, and clean aesthetics. Each piece is still handcrafted in California, and I personally make sure it’s something I’d be proud to use in my own creative space.
The heart of Bazel remains the same—studio desks made to make music- designed by real creatives, for real creative work. Built to last. Built with care. Built with a story behind it.
